Why is there no match when I hover?
The dictionary popup shows "No exact match" when the word under your pointer is not in your installed dictionaries, or when no deinflection finds a dictionary form. Check that you have a dictionary for your learning language and that the word is spelled correctly. For search, you can also try romaji, pinyin, or romanization if you are not sure of the native spelling.
Steps
Check your dictionaries
- Open the extension popup → Dictionary tab.
- Make sure at least one glossary dictionary is installed and enabled for your learning language.
Check learning languages
- In the popup → Dictionary tab, confirm your learning language is selected.
- If only English is selected but you are hovering Japanese text, the lookup will not find Japanese entries.
Try the search popup
- Press your search hotkey and type the word.
- For Japanese, try romaji (e.g., taberu instead of 食べる).
- For Chinese, try pinyin (e.g., chi fan).
- For Korean, try romanization (e.g., meokda).
