Why is pinyin missing or wrong?

Check that Simplified or Traditional Chinese is selected, Pinyin is on, and Reading system is a Chinese option. Wrong pinyin usually means wrong OCR characters—Retry or edit the line.

Verify Chinese settings
- Check the Chinese chip that matches the hardsub.
- Turn on Pinyin and pick Pinyin (tone marks), tone numbers, Zhuyin, or Jyutping.

Correct the line
- Press Retry or double-click to edit misread characters.
