What is the difference between a burned-in subtitle and a YouTube caption in YuzuLingo?
A burned-in (hardsub) line is painted into the video picture. You cover it with a zone and Interact or Translate reads those pixels. A YouTube caption is a Soft sub track: the panel shows that text without a zone.
Prerequisites
The extension is on a video page.
Steps
Burned-in hardsub
- Add a zone over the painted line.
- Set Mode to Interact or Translate.
- The panel shows a Hardsub line (and Translation when Translate is on).
YouTube Soft sub
- Open a YouTube watch page that has caption tracks.
- Soft sub lines appear from Soft sub tracks. No zone is required for those lines.
