What does the number under the word mean?
That line is a frequency rank from an enabled Frequency dictionary, shown as the rank and the list name. It appears when Show pitch and frequency is on and a frequency zip hits the word after a glossary match.
Steps
Read the frequency line
- Hover a word so the dictionary popup opens.
- Under the headword you may see a line such as a number, then the frequency dictionary title.
Change or hide it
- Add or reorder Frequency dictionaries in Settings → Dictionary. The first enabled frequency zip that hits wins.
- Turn off Show pitch and frequency in the extension popup to hide the line.
