What are dictionary kinds (Glossary, Pitch, Frequency)?
Kind tells YuzuLingo what a zip is for. Glossary rows supply meanings. Pitch and Frequency rows add accent and rank data after a meaning match. Pronunciation is reserved for later stress or IPA zips.
Prerequisites
The extension is installed. Open Settings → Dictionary while signed in.
Steps
Read the Kind column
- Open Settings → Dictionary. Each row shows Kind: Glossary, Pitch, Frequency, or Pronunciation.
- Filter with All kinds when you want only one kind.
Know what each kind does
- Glossary dictionaries provide readings and glosses in the popup.
- Pitch and Frequency dictionaries do not replace glosses. After a glossary hit, YuzuLingo attaches pitch and frequency from enabled zips of those kinds.
- A custom zip is detected from index.json and term_meta_bank files. A catalog Add uses the Kind set on that hosted row.
