How do I look up words on any webpage?
Hold a modifier key and hover any text on any webpage to look it up with YuzuLingo's dictionary popup. The card stays open after you release the key—click away or press Escape to dismiss. This works on any site, not just video pages with Interact zones.
Prerequisites
The extension is on. At least one learning language is set in Settings → Dictionary. At least one dictionary is installed for that language.
Steps
Set your learning languages
- Open the YuzuLingo site and sign in.
- Go to Settings → Dictionary and check the languages you are learning.
- Those languages sync to the extension for page-text lookup.
Choose the scan hotkey
- Open the extension popup → Dictionary tab.
- Find Scan page text and pick Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Command, or Off.
- Shift is the default. Off disables page-text scanning entirely.
Look up a word
- Hold your chosen modifier key.
- Hover any text on the page—article text, comments, navigation, anything.
- The dictionary popup appears for the word under your pointer.
Dismiss the card
- Release the modifier—the card stays open (Yomitan-style sticky).
- Click anywhere outside the card, press Escape, or switch tabs to close it.
