Can I type romanization to search Korean?
Yes. When Korean is one of your learning languages, the search popup converts Revised Romanization to Hangul automatically. Type annyeong and the lookup finds 안녕. You do not need a Korean keyboard.
Prerequisites
Korean is selected in the popup → Dictionary → Learning languages. At least one Korean dictionary is installed (e.g., KRDICT).
Steps
Check learning languages
- Open the extension popup → Dictionary tab.
- Make sure Korean is selected in Learning languages.
Open search or page scan
- Press your search hotkey, or hold the page-scan modifier and hover text.
Type romanization
- Type the word in Revised Romanization (e.g., annyeong, hangugo, sarang).
- YuzuLingo converts it to Hangul and looks up the result.
- Korean deinflection still works on the converted Hangul.
