Are readings the same as the dictionary popup reading?
No. Overlay readings are ruby above the OCR line (furigana, pinyin, IPA, and so on). The reading at the top of the dictionary popup comes from your first glossary dictionary in Settings → Dictionary order.
Steps
Compare the two
- Turn on overlay readings in the subtitle panel Settings → Readings to annotate the line.
- Hover a word to open the dictionary popup. Its top reading follows dictionary order, not the Reading system picker.
