1. Who We Are

YuzuLingo (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a browser extension and this website (yuzulingo.com).

2. What the Extension Processes

Everything required to read, mask, and mine video hardsubs runs locally in your client environment:

• Video Frames & OCR: Video frame capture and text recognition occur 100% on-device inside your browser. Video frames, cropped images, and recognized subtitle text are never uploaded to our servers.
• Settings & Local Storage: Extension preferences, custom zone layouts, and saved vocabulary items are stored strictly inside your browser’s local storage (chrome.storage.local).
• Extension Permissions: YuzuLingo requests tab and web page permissions solely to render interactive overlay zones, mask video frames, and execute local OCR over video players you choose to target.

3. Website and Waitlist

If you sign up for updates on yuzulingo.com, we store the email address you provide so we can message you about product updates and launch news. Authentication pages are not linked from the main website navigation.

4. Usage Analytics & Error Tracking

We collect anonymous or account-linked product events (e.g., extension installed, first zone created, Interact enabled) via our API and PostHog to monitor product health. We also log unexpected crashes.

• Device ID: The extension mints a randomized device ID (separate from your browser’s shared extension ID) and a secret token stored only as a hash on our servers.
• Analytics Opt-Out: You can disable usage event tracking at any time in the extension popup under Settings → Share usage analytics.
• No Video or OCR Data Exported: Unexpected crash reports include error names and stack traces. We never transmit video frames, OCR crops, or mined vocabulary as part of analytics.
• No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, trade, or monetize your personal data, browser activity, or usage analytics to third parties, data brokers, or advertising networks.

5. Cookies

This site may use cookies or local storage for locale preference and traffic analytics when configured: PostHog (product usage), Google Analytics 4 (traffic), and Meta Pixel (ad measurement). You can block third-party scripts in your browser settings.

6. Website chat

If you use the chat on this website, your messages are sent to Tawk.to. An automated assistant may reply. That chat is separate from the extension: video frames and recognized subtitle text stay on your device and are not sent to Tawk.to.

7. Changes

We will update this page as our practices evolve. Continued use of YuzuLingo after changes are published indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
