Do I need a credit card to start the trial?

Yes. Checkout collects a payment method through Stripe so the subscription can continue after the trial if you do not cancel. You are not charged for Pro while the trial is active if you cancel in time.

At checkout
- Enter a supported payment method in Stripe Elements.
- Cancel from Settings → Billing before the trial ends to avoid the first charge.
