YuzuLingo vs Video Subtitle Extractor (YaoFANGUK)
YuzuLingo covers burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. You do not download the video. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
Video Subtitle Extractor is YaoFANGUK’s app in the repo video-subtitle-extractor, also called VSE. You set up Python 3.12, PaddlePaddle, and a virtual environment, then open a local video in the window or from the command line. You draw the subtitle area, and it writes an SRT or TXT. OCR stays on the device and does not call Baidu or Alibaba. It runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS. They claim 87 languages. The latest release is 2.2.0. You can pair it with their separate video-subtitle-remover. It does not cover the line while a web video plays.
