YuzuLingo vs Subtitle Masker
YuzuLingo covers burned-in subtitles on YouTube, Bilibili, and other open web players. You can draw more than one zone, and set how strong the blur is. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them, and a transcript of the lines in that session. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey. It runs in Firefox as well as Chrome.
Subtitle Masker is a Chrome extension. It puts one blur mask on the subtitles in a video player, and the mask follows the video into fullscreen. A reviewer says the blur level cannot be changed, and that leaving fullscreen can break the mask. It does not read the line.
