YuzuLingo vs Sentence Grinder (kualta)
YuzuLingo stays in the browser. You cover burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. There is no app to set up. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
Sentence Grinder is kualta’s project, in the repo mine. It is a Next.js app with Prisma, aimed at sentence mining with spaced repetition. The README says it is in very early stages. Every roadmap item is still open: a CJK minimum version, other languages, an infinite deck, sync across desktop, mobile, and web, a hover dictionary, a pronunciation dictionary, and community features. The sheet describes hover lookups from native video. The README does not. The owner archived the repo on 16 October 2024. There is no release. AGPL-3.0.
