YuzuLingo vs mpv-ocr (rootsim)
YuzuLingo stays in the browser. You cover burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. There is no media player to set up and no separate OCR server. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
mpv-ocr is rootsim’s script for mpv. The repo is not public. The description says it OCRs hardsubbed Japanese and CJK video and sends the text to Yomitan. The setup list names mpv, Tesseract or Manga-OCR, a local Python server, and AnkiConnect. The rows below follow that description. AnkiConnect is in the setup list. The description does not say the script writes the card.
