YuzuLingo vs video-subtitle-erasure (mistbit)
YuzuLingo stays in the browser. You cover burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. There is no Python project to set up, and no video file to upload or download. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
video-subtitle-erasure is mistbitās Python project in the repo video-subtitle-erasure. It needs Python 3.11 and a checkout of the sibling project subtitle-ocr. You pass a local MP4, or upload one to a workbench on your machine, and it writes a new file with the hardcoded line wiped out and the audio kept. You can draw the area, or let it find the area. It can search better settings on a short clip before the full video. There is no release. It does not cover a web video while it plays.
