YuzuLingo vs python-srt2ass (ewwink)
YuzuLingo stays in the browser. You cover burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. There is no script to run and no subtitle file to start from. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
python-srt2ass is ewwinkâs Python 3 script, in the repo python-srt2ass. You give it an SRT and it writes an ASS. The default style is a black box with yellow text, meant to hide a foreign hardsub when you play that ASS over the movie. It runs on Windows, Linux, Mac, and Android, from the command line or as a Python module. You can pass more than one SRT. The last commit was about 4 years ago, and there is no release.
