YuzuLingo vs subtitles-rs (emk)
YuzuLingo covers burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. You do not download the video. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them, and a transcript of the lines in that session. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
substudy is emkās command-line tool in the repo subtitles-rs. You need ffmpeg and a local video plus subtitle files. It can build a bilingual SRT, a review page, and Anki cards with a picture and audio. Transcribe and translate send the file to OpenAI and cost money. The latest release on the repo is 0.6.10. It does not cover burned-in subtitles on a web player.
