YuzuLingo vs Subtitles-remover (Emam546)
YuzuLingo stays in the browser. You cover burned-in subtitles on the video you are already watching, including YouTube, Bilibili, and other web players. There is no app to download and no video file to start from. Turn on Interact to read the burned-in line on your device, with furigana or pinyin when the language has them. Show that text always, on hover, or while you hold a hotkey.
Hardcoded Subtitles Remover is Emam546’s Windows app, in the repo Subtitles-remover. You open a local video, mark the subtitle area, and set a color range. It builds a mask and inpaints those frames so the burned-in text is gone from the copy. You can cut a portion of the video and preview the cleaned frames while it runs. The work stays on your machine, with Electron for the window and OpenCV for the removal. The README says it is still in progress. Large videos can fail to display, startup can be slow, and seeking backward can miss a frame. Release v0.0.3. The last commit was about 5 months ago.
